Moon sighting committee to meet this evening

The National Moon Sighting Committee is scheduled to meet this evening (March 1) to determine the date of the holy month of Ramadan this year.
The meeting will take place in the Baitul Mukarram conference room of the Islamic Foundation, chaired by the religious affairs advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain. The committee will make an official announcement regarding the beginning of Ramadan for 1446 Hijri.
Billal bin Kasem, the Public Relations Officer of the Islamic Foundation, provided this information.
He said that the National Moon Sighting Committee will decide when the month of Ramadan will start. A decision will be taken in a meeting after the Maghrib.
The National Moon Sighting Committee will review the information received from all district administrations, the Islamic Foundation Head Office, divisional and district offices, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, and the Space Research and Remote Sensing Institute regarding the moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan.
Authorities have urged the public to report any sightings of the Ramadan moon from any part of the country by calling the following numbers or the district commissioner or upazila executive officer of the concerned district: 02-223381725, 02-41050912, 02-41050916, and 02-41050917.
