Today marks the 17th death anniversary of popular film actor Manna. Widely regarded as the Yuvraj of Dhallywood, he was a remarkably successful Bangladeshi movie actor and producer.

Manna was born on 14 April 1964 in Tangail District.

He started his acting career in 1984 after being discovered through a talent search programme by the National Film Development Corporation of Bangladesh (BFDC).

Manna’s debut film was “Pagli” (1985) directed by Kazi Hayat. But, he came to the limelight through the film “Danga” (1992).

Manna’s notable commercially successful movies include “Danga”, “Traash”, “Chadabaaz”, “Amma Jaan”, “Shajghar”, “Khomotar Garom”, “Moner Shathey Juddho”, “Machine-Man”, and “Shotru Shotru Khela”.

For his contribution to the film industry, Manna earned numerous accolades, including the National Film Award and Bachsas Awards.

Manna died on 17 February 2008 following a heart attack.
