The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Mehidy Hasan as the vice-captain for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. BCB announced the news through a press release on Thursday.

The 27-year-old allrounder has played 103 ODIs for Bangladesh and has the experience of captaining the side in recent months in the West Indies in the absence of captain Najmul Hossain who was injured.

Meanwhile, BCB confirmed that pacers Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed will travel to Dubai on Saturday to train with the Bangladesh Champions Trophy squad. The bowlers will return home following Bangladesh’s opening match of the tournament against India in Dubai on 20 February.
