Prantik Nawrose Nabil, a member of Bangladesh's 2020 U19 World Cup-winning team, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket at just 21 years old. The young cricketer cited ‘personal reasons’ for his decision, but it has now been revealed that serious health concerns, including asthma and a severe dust allergy, played a key role in his early exit from the sport.

Nabil confirmed his condition to the Daily Sun, stating that both local and international physicians advised him against continuing his cricketing career due to the risks associated with his respiratory issues. Given the nature of the sport—especially exposure to dust and extreme physical exertion—continuing to play could have severely impacted his health.

A promising batsman, Nabil was part of the historic Bangladesh U19 team that clinched the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2020.

Nabil added that he had also informed the BCB of his decision beforehand.
