BNP will introduce a life and work-oriented education system in light of morals, religious and social values by forming a separate education commission if it is voted to power in the next general election.

BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Imran Saleh Prince said this after inaugurating an annual sport and cultural event at Dhara High School in Haluaghat Upazila of Mymensingh on Monday.

He also blamed the defeated Awami League for destroying the country’s educational structure by indulging in massive nepotism and politicisation during its last 15 years of fascist rule.

The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina banished ethics, norms, religious and social values from the country’s education system without adopting any life and work-oriented curriculum during her administration, alleged the BNP leader.

Against the backdrop of the 5 August changeover, the countrymen must be proactive, upholding patriotism to rebuild the country upholding the spirit of the student-led mass upsurge, he said.

Local BNP leaders Arfan Ali, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Mirza Enamul Haque, former headmaster of Dhara High School, Toufiqur Rahman, principal of Dhara Degree College, Anwar Hossain, Haluaghat Krishak Dal president, among others, addressed the programme.
