Workload management of Nahid Rana seemed to be the topic of discussion in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament.

The fast bowler is already hogging the spotlight for his raw pace while along the way there is apprehension regarding his fitness as well considering pacers is very easy prey of injuries.

Despite concerns, the 22-year-old pacer remains confident about his fitness and performance.

After a practice session at the M.A. Aziz Stadium, Nahid told journalists that he feels fresh even after playing seven consecutive matches for Rangpur Riders, where he has claimed nine wickets so far.

He emphasized that if rest becomes necessary, he will make the decision himself.

"Pace bowlers will always face injuries; it's part of cricket," Nahid remarked when asked about managing his workload.

‘’I'm trying to manage it by doing what is necessary to avoid injuries as much as possible. A cricketer knows his workload best. He understands his body and when he's feeling good. Right now, I'm feeling good physically. The Rangpur Riders team management is supporting me, and BCB is also keeping track. Overall, it's good," he said adding that he is in constant communication with the Riders management and BCB.

Nahid addressed the mental aspect of the game and felt that it is important to have rest in order to be fresh and firing.

"Mentally, rest is essential because continuous play can have mental fatigue,” he said.

“Alhamdulillah, I feel good at the moment. Rangpur Riders have assured me that I can request rest whenever I feel the need,” he said.

“I'm maintaining constant communication with both the team management and BCB."

Despite the rigorous schedule, Nahid is enjoying his time in the BPL. "Alhamdulillah, things are going as I wanted. I'm giving my best for Rangpur Riders, and it feels great," he said. Nahid also revealed his focus on analyzing batsmen, both local and foreign, to refine his bowling strategies.

"By reading the batsman or understanding the situation, I mean assessing which batsman is strong in which areas or what the situation demands and then trying to bowl accordingly. These things are discussed in team meetings beforehand, and then we try to implement them on the field," he said.

"I'm learning something from every senior cricketer in the national team since I'm the junior among them. They point out even the smallest mistakes, and I'm trying to gradually improve them through practice," he added.

Rangpur Riders, led by Nurul Hasan Sohan and currently undefeated in the tournament, are set to face Chittagong Kings in tonight’s game at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. With Nahid playing a pivotal role, the Riders hope to maintain their winning streak.
