Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed new textbooks on behalf of the government among the students of a community school in Char Borhan union, Dashmina upazila, Patuakhali, on Sunday.

Jamaat-e-Islami union unit Ameer Duda Sardar attended the event as the chief guest, while local leader Shukkur Hawladar presided over the session held on the school premises.

Addressing the programme, Duda Sardar praised Bashundhara Shuvosangho's efforts in promoting education among underprivileged communities. “The people of this region will remember their contribution with gratitude,” he said.

A student named Miraj arrived at the school with his mother to receive new books. “I woke up early in the morning to get my new books,” he said.

Guardian Sajib Molla said that the school has been providing notebooks, pens, pencils, rubbers, and pencil cutters for the past two years. “They have provided clothes, pants, shoes, and bags,” he said.

Local leaders Monir Howlader and Rubel Hossain, and teachers Jannat Ara and Aklima Begum were also present on the occasion.
