Judiciary Reform Commission's term extended till 31 Jan

The government has extended the tenure of the Judiciary Reform Commission until 31 January.
A gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on 2 January said the tenure of the commission formed on 3 October has been extended till 31 January 2025, and the order will come into effect immediately.
The Judiciary Reform Commission was formed to propose necessary reforms aimed at ensuring the independence, neutrality, and effectiveness of the country's judiciary.
The commission is headed by retired Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominir Rahman. Other members include retired justices Emdadul Haque and Farid Ahmed Shibli, former district and sessions judges Syed Aminul Islam and Masdar Hossain, senior advocate Tanim Hussain Shawon, Dhaka University associate professor of law Kazi Mahfuzul Haque Supan, and a student representative.
The commission was tasked with commencing its operations immediately upon formation and submitting its report to the Chief Adviser within the initial 90-day period.
