Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd continued their winning streak in the ongoing Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 after beating Fortis Football Club by 1-0 goal in their first-leg match at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Friday.

Unmarked Nigerian forward Sunday Chukwuemeka Emmanuel scored the lone goal with a right-footer grounder from inside the box, off a pass from Ghanaian midfielder Ernest Boateng in the 17th minute.

Fortis FC failed to restore parity in the rest of the match.

Debutants Dhaka Wanderers Club tasted their first win in the ongoing Bashundhara Group BPL after beating Chittagong Abahani Ltd by the same 1-0 goal margin in the day’s other match at the Shahid Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.

Midfielder Md Shakil Ali scored the match winner for the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Championship League (BCL) 2023–24 runners-up in the 42nd minute.

After the day’s matches, Mohammedan SC consolidated the top spot with 15 points from five wins, Fortis were seventh with their previous credit of 5 points from one win, two draws and two defeats.

Wanderers climbed to eighth with 4 points from one win, one draw and three defeats while Ctg Abahoni were at the bottom tenth empty-handed.
