Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho have motivated young farmers in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha to cultivate vegetables using organic fertilisers, reducing chemical use.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Rashidul Kabir briefed the farmers at an agricultural field in a rural hamlet of Tarapur union on Thursday.

Agriculture Officer Rashidul Kabir said that some unscrupulous traders sell adulterated chemicals lacking necessary ingredients.

“Farmers are failing to get desired crops due to the use of chemicals. They can instead make earthworm compost and farm-produced cow dung fertiliser,” he said.
