Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed on Wednesday conceded that businesspeople of different categories collaborate to hike consumer prices and it is very difficult for the government to move against their market dominance.

He, rather, urged consumers to protest against unusual price hikes to counter the business syndicate’s malpractices instead of tolerating their sufferings and continue buying passively at heightened rates.

The adviser made the remarks in an address to reporters after a meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) at the Cabinet Division.
