Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Professor M Aminul Islam on Wednesday said the government will establish an education commission within a couple of days.
The commission will be consisted of distinguished and skilled people, he said at the Dean's Award ceremony held at the International Conference Room of Daffodil International University in Savar.
He said the government is working to bring change by increasing the education budget and enhancing all forms of cooperation.
Professor Aminul further stressed the importance of instilling a sense of competition and excellence among students.
He said proficiency in English language is essential for creating job opportunities apart from enhancing skills, and succeeding in both research and professional fields at home and abroad.
"In our country's education system, too much emphasis is given on memorization, ignoring creativity, which stifles the innovative potential of youths. You must strive to become skilled innovators," he added in address to Daffodil University students.
Professor Amidul also called for specialised training alongside formal education.
He urged the students to prepare themselves for the challenges of the post-fourth industrial revolution, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
At the ceremony, 109 students from various departments of the Daffodils International University were honoured with the prestigious Dean's Award for their academic excellence.
