Victory Day Kabaddi 2024 (Men and Women), organized by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF), will begin tomorrow at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here.
A total of 12 teams – six men’s teams and six women’s teams -- will compete in this annual event.
In the men’s category, six teams -- Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, Jail and Fire Service and Civil Defence – split into two groups – will compete in the group stage.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.
The semis and the final will be held on 22 and 24 December respectively.
In the women’s category, six teams – Police, Border Guard Bangladesh, Ansar and VDP, Faridpur, Narail and Joypurhat – split into two groups – will compete in the group stage.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.

BKF’s ad hoc committee general secretary SM Newaz Sohag disclosed the details in a press conference at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Auditorium on Wednesday.
“Kabaddi will roll on the field with this competition after six months. The event is also a part of the Festival of Youth 2025,” said Sohag.
The Festival of Youth 2025, an initiative of the Bangladesh government, is a youth-centric event which will take place from 30 December to 19 February.
The main goal of this initiative is to rebuild the country and move forward with state reforms while maintaining national unity.
The youth festival will be promoted through three sports in the country -- cricket, football, and kabaddi.
“We have a lot of local and foreign competitions next year including Junior World Cup. So, we will select 20 men and 20 women young players from this league for men’s and women’s national teams,” he added.
The Junior (U-20) World Cup will take place in March in Iran.
