Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Wednesday that batsman Soumya Sarkar is ruled out from the last T20I game of the three-match series against West Indies due to finger injury.
Soumya suffered a finger injury during the second T20 International against the West Indies in St. Vincent on Wednesday, which may keep him out of action for around three weeks, BCB said in a statement.
“Soumya sustained a cut injury on his right index finger while fielding, which required five stitches. An X-ray was conducted after the match, revealing a subluxation in the affected area. His recovery may take about three to four weeks.” national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan was quoted in the statement.
Soumya injured his right index finger while attempting a catch in the seventh over of the West Indies innings and did not take further part in the match.
Bangladesh clinched the series with one game in hand after winning second T20I by 27 runs at St Kitts on Wednesday following their seven-run win in the opening game.
The southpaw is expected to miss couple of games in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, country’s lone franchise-based T20 tournament, scheduled to start from 30 December.
