Filmmaker Rashid Polash announced his new movie titled “Tori” with Tollywood actor Rituparna Sengupta.

The first lot of the film has also been completed. However, before the second lot, it was known that Rituparna Sengupta would not be in the film. Another popular star from Kolkata, Sreelekha Mitra, will be replacing her.

Director Rashid Polash confirmed the matter to the media on Sunday. He said, “I recently went to Kolkata to finalise the matter of Sreelekha Mitra. I returned on Saturday. We are happy to have sreelekha in our film.”

It is believed that the main reason for Rituparna’s exclusion from the film “Tori” is the Bangladeshi actor and former MP Ferdous Ahmed. Rituparna has a good friendship with Ferdous Ahmed. The two have worked together in several films.
In the meantime, the first lot shooting of “Tori” took place at the border area of Chapainawabganj. Sreelekha Mitra will join the second phase of shooting in Sylhet next month.

The director plans to release the film in 2025 after completing the shooting and dubbing. Besides Srilekha Mitra, Bangladeshi actors Monwar Hossain Dipjol, Zinat Sanu Swagata, Nasir Uddin Khan, Sumon Anwar, Shampa Reza and others will be seen in the project.

The story of “Tori” has been written by Ahadur Rahman while Golam Rabbani has written the screenplay and dialogues of the project.

Talented film director Rashid Polash bagged three National Film Awards for his first film   “Padmapuran”. This filmmaker came into the discussion again with the second film “Moyurakkhi”, which was released in theatres on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha last year.
