BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has blamed neighbouring India for adopting a conspiracy theory to create a chaotic situation on the pretext of religious persecution in Bangladesh.

“The people of our Hindu community have been living peacefully here but why are some of them creating chaos here maintaining alignment with India? Why are they tarnishing our image worldwide? Create chaos here is their lone target,” he said on Friday.

Claiming that the countrymen proved that they are capable of ensuring a fall or formation of a government in the country through the July-August upsurge, Mosharraf said, “Those who are engaged in hatching conspiracy against us are exposing their audacity.”

While addressing a programme held at the national press club in Dhaka marking the Fall of Autocracy Day, he said that the patriotic people who believe in the country’s independence, sovereignty and democracy want to march forward with unity.

“We have called for national unity in the past and extended our support to the head of the interim government for the sake of unity. We must forge a national unity regardless of our caste and creed to foil both from internal or external,” he said.

About the next general election, Mosharraf also called upon the interim government to hold the national election after immediately completing the necessary reforms within the state organs.   

“Fascist Sheikh Hasina is hatching a plot to create disintegration among us staying in India. So we will have to stay united to cooperate with the government for the greater interest of the nation,” he said.
