Turkish Ambassador Ramis Sen on Thursday met Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat in the capital.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral issues related to trade and commerce as well as next month’s visit of the Turkish trade minister to Bangladesh in January.
Highlighting the long-standing brotherly relations between the two countries, the commerce adviser said that the upcoming visit of the Turkish minister is significant and that Bangladesh would undertake plan to make the visit successful, said a Commerce Ministry press release.
He said that Bangladesh would take efforts to avail highest possible trade facilities from Turkey.
Mentioning that Turkey wants to deepen further the bilateral relations with Bangladesh, Ramis said time has come to deepen further the bilateral relations between the two countries by creating more scopes in trade and commerce.
In this regard, Turkey is keen to hold a dialogue among the businessmen of the two countries to seize the opportunities, he added.
The ambassador also requested the commerce adviser to hold roundtable discussions and talks with the businessmen of the two countries during the upcoming visit of the Turkish trade minister to Bangladesh.
In this regard, the commerce adviser assured the ambassador of taking necessary initiatives.
Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary (export) M Abdur Rahim Khan was present on the occasion.
