Bangladesh shared points with Malaysia as their Pool B match of the ongoing Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 tied at 2-2 goals at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Muscat, Oman on Saturday.

Malaysia’s Muhammad Danish Danial took the lead in the second minute but Amirul Islam levelled the margin in the 27th minute and Rokibul Hasan Rocky doubled the margin in the 36th minute for Bangladesh.

After four minutes, Muhammad Norizam scored an equaliser in the 40th minute.

After the day’s draw, Bangladesh earned a total of 4 points in the five-team leaderboard. They earlier beat Oman by 3-1 goals but suffered 0-6 goals defeat to Pakistan both at the same venue.

Bangladesh will play next against China in their remaining group match on 1 December.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh qualified for the Junior Asia Cup as a champion of the Men’s Junior AHF Cup 2024 held in Singapore in June. They beat China by 4-2 goals in the final.

However, the junior Asia Cup will provide spots for six Asian teams in the upcoming 14th Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2025, scheduled in December in India.
