Congratulating the new graduates of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) on the successful completion of their course, Chief of Army Staff Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman on Thursday advised them to apply their newly acquired wisdom, determination, and enthusiasm to furthering the progress of both the armed forces and the nation as a whole.

The Graduation Ceremony for DSCSC Course 2024 took place at the DSCSC Auditorium in Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka.

The Army chief expressed his gratitude to the commandant of the DSCSC for his exceptional leadership in guiding DSCSC 2024 to its successful conclusion.

The DSCSC is dedicated to enhancing the strategic and tactical expertise of military leaders while fostering international collaboration, according to a press release from ISPR.

Earlier, DSCSC Commandant Maj Gen Chowdhury Mohammad Azizul Haque Hazary, delivered his welcome address.

He expressed his deep appreciation to the Army chief for his distinguished presence and continued support for the advancement of the college and the professional development of the officers of the armed forces.

A total of 267 officers completed the DSCSC 2024 course this year, including 141 officers from the Bangladesh Army, 40 from the Bangladesh Navy, 26 from the Bangladesh Air Force, 3 from the Bangladesh Police, and 57 international participants from 25 friendly nations: China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Liberia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mali, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, and Zambia. 

Notably, this year saw the graduation of 13 female officers.

The Defence Services Command and Staff College of Bangladesh is an internationally recognised tri-service training institution. This institution aims to train mid-level officers from the three services who have been selected for higher command and staff responsibilities in the future.

To date, 5,079 officers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces, 17 officers from the Bangladesh Police, and 1,407 officers from 45 friendly foreign nations have graduated from this prestigious college.

Among those present at the ceremony were high commissioners and ambassadors of various countries assigned to Bangladesh, the principal staff officer of the Armed Forces Division, senior military and civil service officers, vice-chancellors and professors from several universities, distinguished citizens, as well as defence, military, naval, and air advisers/attaches from different countries in Bangladesh.
