Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the past 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 461 this year.
The recent fatalities occurred in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
During the period, 934 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 182 were admitted to hospitals under the DNCC while 132 under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Some 3,528 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 87,725 dengue cases have been reported since 1 January.
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
The DGHS recorded 3,21,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries in 2023.
