At least 25 students were injured, but no fatalities took place in the clash that took place among students in Jatrabari area of Dhaka on Monday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said in a statement this evening.

Meanwhile, an untrue news is being spread on social media regarding the death of two students in the clashes.

The DMP has said that this is nothing but propaganda and urged everyone to refrain from spreading such misinformation.

Earlier in the day, clashes erupted among the students of Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College, Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College in the area following the death of a student allegedly in wrong treatment at a hospital.  

On November 16, Abhijit Halder, an HSC student of the DMRMC was admitted to the medicine department of the hospital with dengue fever. He died on 18 November.

As the situation took a worsening turn, the government deployed BGB members in and around the area to take the situation under control.
