A decade of success: ICCB becomes Dhaka’s premier event hub for every occasion

Within a decade of launching, the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) has become the first choice for event planners in the capital city to house prestigious events for local and international clients, considering the wider space and modern amenities it provides.
From organising personal or corporate occasions to welcoming any international celebrities, ICCB on the side of a 300-feet highway in the capital is the first choice in Bangladesh, according to a seasoned personality in the event and activations sector.
“We have been conducting events for over a decade. However, when ICCB commenced its journey in January 2015, we had to think about it as the premier option to organise impactful events in a wider space,” Milon Kumar Biswas, chief executive officer at IALO Limited, told the Daily Sun on Saturday, sharing the experience regarding ICCB.
Having more than 6.50 lakh square feet of covered space within its four beautifully designed halls supported by ample open space for purposeful usage, ICCB is equipped to host big crowd events for up to 20,000 guests at a time.
Milon reminisced about the Shreya Ghosal Live concert in Dhaka which took place in June of 2015, the first year of opening the arenas of ICCB, the most modern venue in the country.
“Think about the live concert of Shreya Ghoshal about a decade ago – one of the most attractive concerts of that time. To make the international event a success, ICCB helps us in a wider aspect,” he said.
Absolutely secured and organised parking facilities, end-to-end vigilance, well-groomed staffers, well exposure and a gamut of international-standard amenities have already made ICCB a premier place for events of national and international importance. Besides mega events, there are provisions for relatively small or medium-scale events.
Regarding the venue, ICCB Chief Operating Officer MM Jasim Uddin said the mega event area will add one more hangar to cater to the increasing demand for outdoor exhibitions in a wider way.
“ICCB completes ten years of operation in 2025 since its launching in January 2015, a significant landmark for any establishment. To mark the occasion, we have made a unique plan to recognise the valued partners we had over the period.
“We will offer a privilege package to the event partners, scaling revenue margin to make an enjoyable event within budget,” MM Jasim Uddin told the Daily Sun.
ICCB is the only integrated and mega facility in the country that was built with a view to redefine the scope and standard of the domestic service industry. The arena has a designated helipad like some international venues have while there is space to welcome more than 2,000 cars at a time.
Apart from four big halls, ICCB opens a special venue for small scale events and needs of the middle-class people in mind. The ICCB Heritage Restaurant has expanded its campuses in April 2024 to provide a regal experience of traditional Mughal cuisine on a larger scale for food lovers.
As the first of its kind in Bangladesh, the ICCB Heritage commenced its journey as the lone concept restaurant in Dhaka in 2021 to make the real food habits of Mughals available for foodies.
