2 men held with gold worth Tk6cr in Jhenaidah

The members of the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) have claimed to have detained two men and recovered 46 gold biscuits from their possessions in Maheshpur border area of Jhenaidah.
The market value of the gold is estimated over Tk5.91 crore, said BGB-58 Commanding Officer Colonel Shah Md Azizus Shaheed.
The arrestees are identified as Abdul Kader Mondal, 60, of Choyghoria village and Dulal Hossain, 40, of Raipur village of Mohespur Upazila, said the BGB official.
Being tipped off, a patrol team of the BGB took a position at Raipur village near Maheshpur border.
At one point, the BGB men challenged two people while they were attempting to cross the border around 5.30 pm.
Later, the BGB men searched their bodies and recovered 46 gold biscuits, Shaheed said.
A case was filed against the arrestees, while the arrestees were handed over to Maheshpur police.
