A delegation of individuals injured during the July uprising has presented a seven-point charter of demands to the interim government, which include the provision of medical care equivalent to that received by ministers or advisers to the interim government, swift prosecution of the Awami League and associated groups, and a ban on these organisations.

The demands were put forward during a meeting with government advisers at the secretariat on Thursday afternoon.

The press release detailing the seven-point list was signed by Zihad Islam, coordinator for the families of the martyrs and those injured in the uprising.

Among their demands, the injured insist that those who paid for their own treatment be reimbursed.

They also called for special identity cards for both the injured and the families of the martyred, as well as a monthly allowance for one more generation, alongside rehabilitation support.

Additionally, they proposed the creation of a museum named the "Smriti Foundation," dedicated to honouring those killed or injured during the 2024 mass uprising, along with an annual mass signature campaign to be held from 1 July to 5 August.

The protesters further called for the formation of an independent committee to review the medical files of those killed or disabled in the uprising, with legal action to be taken if any evidence of medical negligence is identified.

The delegation also demanded that the voices of injured protesters and the families of those killed be incorporated into future state reform initiatives.

On 13 November, a group of injured protesters held a demonstration outside the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), calling for improved treatment and government support.

They agreed to return to their hospitals after four government advisers met them at NITOR at 2:30am on Thursday, providing assurances of proper treatment, rehabilitation, and prompt financial support.

Following this, the advisers invited a delegation of the injured to discuss their demands at the Secretariat.
