Southeast University welcomes students of fall semester

Southeast University (SEU) welcomed its newly admitted students for the Fall Semester 2024 with a vibrant Freshers' Reception and Orientation Program held at its Multipurpose Hall on 13-14 November.
The programme comprised four sessions for different departments.
The inaugural session was held on 13 November at 11:00am for the newly admitted students of the CSE department. Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, former professor of CSE at BUET, graced the session as the Chief Guest.
The day’s second session welcomed students from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Architecture, and Textile departments. The session’s chief guest was Rasheda Sarker Fancy, vice president (Production) of Anlima Textile Ltd. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Mofazzal Hossain presided over the first day’s sessions.
The second day commenced with the third session at 11:00am, welcoming students from the Bangla, English, and Economics departments. Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury, member (VAT-Policy) of National Board of Revenue (NBR), graced the session as the chief guest, while Brigadier General Kazi Shameem Farhad, principal of Dhaka Residential Model College, was present as a special guest.
In the fourth session at 3:00pm students from Southeast Business School were welcomed. Dr Mahmudul Hasan Khusru, past president of ICAB and the director-cum-CEO of Expo Group, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Throughout the last day’s sessions, SEU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the events, while Pro Vice Chancellor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, Registrar Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed (Retd), and Additional Registrar Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar (Retd) tended heartfelt welcomes to the newly enrolled students.
The esteemed guests imparted valuable advice, encouraging students to prioritise punctuality and maintain focus. They emphasised self-development and readiness to tackle future challenges as qualities for students to achieve, while pursuing studies at the beautiful permanent campus of the university at Tejgaon.
