In the latest ICC ODI rankings update, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have swapped positions following their three-match series, with Bangladesh slipping to ninth and Afghanistan climbing to eighth.
Bangladesh lost the series 2-1 in the UAE, suffering a five-wicket defeat in the third ODI at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Both teams currently have identical rating points of 85, though Afghanistan rank just above Bangladesh due to decimal differences.
This series marked Bangladesh’s first ODI action in seven months, as their previous series was at home against Sri Lanka in March.
Both teams are scheduled for three more ODIs this year, with Bangladesh heading to the Caribbean to face the West Indies in December and Afghanistan set for an away series against Zimbabwe in the same month.
