Babu Kamruzzaman wins ERF Journalist of the Year Award

Babu Kamruzzaman, special correspondent of News24 Television, has been awarded the ERF-Nagad Best Reporting Award 2023, recognising his standout journalism in the private sector.
His report, titled “Grey workers life in green factories” highlighted crucial challenges in the industry, earning him this prestigious honour.
The award ceremony took place on Tuesday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka, where Kamruzzaman received the crest and honorary check from Commerce Advisor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed and Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur.
This year, ERF received 168 entries across print, online, and television platforms, and Kamruzzaman’s work was chosen as one of 17 outstanding reports. His impactful journalism continues to shape discussions in the economic sector.
Reflecting on his win, Kamruzzaman said that the ERF award is a great recognition of the hard work done by economic journalists and that will inspire me to continue pushing boundaries in the field.
Originally from Pathorer Char in Jamalpur, Babu Kamruzzaman is known for hosting influential talk shows on News24 TV. He has been honoured with multiple awards throughout his career, including the ActionAid Youth Journalism Award, AmCham Frontline Journalism Award and the ERF-BCCCI Award.
