Seminar on Bangladesh's Human Resources held in Tokyo

Bangladesh Embassy in Japan in collaboration with Japan International Trainee and Skilled Worker Cooperation Organisation (JITCO) organised a seminar titled ‘Bangladesh Seminar on Human Resources’ on 29 October 2024 at JITCO Headquarters in Tokyo.

Nearly 50 Japanese companies and manpower recruiting organisations attended the event, said a press release.

EWB International Ltd., one of the important sending organisations of Bangladesh participated and gave a presentation.

Charge d’affaires of Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo Shah Asif Rahman welcomed all and thanked the Japan Government for continuous support and cooperation including in the human resources  sector which has significantly enhanced over the years.

At present approximately 30,000 Bangladeshis are living in Japan. 

Charge d’affaires stated that now is the time to focus on the Human Resources as Bangladesh has a huge pool of skilled manpower while Japan has a growing demand of foreign workers. He assured all assistance in sending skilled manpower to Japan and develop a well-functioning system. He urged all concerned to work in partnership for this purpose.

Md. Zoynal Abedin, First Secretary (Labour) of Bangladesh Embassy gave a detailed presentation on human resources potential of Bangladesh. Senior Vice President of JITCO Ambassador Matsutomi Shigeo gave a presentation on the international labour market situation and the prospect of the future labour market in Japan.

Managing Director of Shohatsu Co. Ltd. Masato Mizushima, Marketing Director  of EWB International Ltd Masamune Fukui and two Bangladeshi working in Japanese companies shared their experiences in the seminar.

It is to be noted that after signing two MoCs in 2018 and 2019, the number of Bangladeshi workers in Japan increased significantly in the last 2 years (2022-2023) with numbers of Bangladeshi in Japan increased from 18,000 to over 27,000.

The Seminar was attended by Bangladesh Embassy and JITCO officials.
