Mohammad Selim Uddin has been elected ameer of Jamaat Dhaka city north unit for the 2025-2026 session.

The election took place at the annual membership conference held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre on 13 October.

Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman announced the election results at a meeting of the central working committee on Thursday.

Around 10,000 voters cast their votes directly for Dhaka city north unit's ameer election for the session of 2025-26.

Muhammad Abdur Rab, member of the central executive council, served as the chief election commissioner with Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul of the south unit of Jamaat Dhaka as his assistant.

Selim Uddin served as the central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir for the 2004-2005 session.

He held the position of deputy executive at Diganta Television and served as the ameer of Ramna thana from 2008-2011.

He also served as assistant secretary general of undivided Dhaka from 2012-2016 and has been the ameer of Jamaat Dhaka north city unit since 2017.

Selim Uddin is a key member of the central executive council, the highest decision-making body of Jamaat.
