Social welfare secy sent into forced retirement

The government has sent Ministry of Social Welfare Secretary MD Ismail Hossain into forced retirement.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Tuesday stating that Ismail Hossain has been sent into retirement in the public interest as he completed 25 years of service.
According to the notification, the action was taken under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, which allows the government to send any employee who has completed 25 years of service into retirement at any time and without stating a reason. However, prior approval from the President is required.
Additionally, Mohammad Abdullah Al Masud Chowdhury, secretary of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Following the OSD status of the PSC Secretary, Mohammad Sanowar Jahan Bhuiyan, additional secretary and executive director of the Bangladesh Computer Council, has been promoted as the new secretary of the commission, according to the notification.
