UPDF contributes Tk10 lakh to CA’s relief fund

The United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) has contributed Tk10 lakh to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for supporting flood victims.
Pahari Chhatra Parishad former president Sunayan Chakma, President Dharana Chakma, and General Secretary Amal Tripura deposited the money at the Sat Masjid Road branch of Sonali Bank on Monday.
Earlier, for supporting the flood victims, UPDF formed a 7-member committee under the leadership of Angya Marma. The committee collected Tk32 lakh from 25 August to 5 September.
From the collected money, UPDF donated Tk10 lakh to the chief adviser’s fund and set aside Tk2 lakh for assisting the flood-affected people in Sherpur and Mymensingh districts.
The remaining Tk20 lakh has been deposited with the permanent relief fund of UPDF, which will later be used for emergency relief purposes during natural calamities like floods.
Angya Marma thanked those who responded to the call from UPDF and came forward to help the flood victims and provide financial assistance.
