The metro rail authorities are working in full swing to reopen the vandalised Mirpur-10 station towards the middle of the month, with necessary tests set to be completed by next Sunday.
Unidentified miscreants vandalised the station on 19 July, when the quota reform protests were raging violently across the country, rendering it inoperable for almost three months now.
All the damaged equipment of the station were imported, and importing them again would have required more time.
But, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) has already replaced most of the damaged equipment, by bringing in similar ones from two of the relatively less used stations: Bijoy Sarani and Uttara South.
Equipment has also been brought in from DMTCL training institute, officials told reporters Tuesday.
Broken glasses of Mirpur-10 station office have been replaced with locally made glasses, the officials said.
