South Africa captain Timba Bavuma is in doubt for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh as he got injured in the elbow during their second ODI match against Ireland in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
Bavuma also ruled out of the third ODI against Ireland which is scheduled to be held today at the same venue, Cricket South Africa (CSA) said on Sunday.
“Bavuma will return home with the rest of the squad on Tuesday and will consult a specialist. An update on the extent of his injury will be provided in due course,” CSA said in a press release.
Meanwhile, the two-match Test series between Bangladesh and South Africa is scheduled to begin on 21 October in Mirpur, followed by the second Test starting on 29 October in Chattogram.
