Ex-minister Narayan Chandra held while fleeing to India
He was elected lawmaker in the 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024 general elections

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained former land minister Narayan Chandra Chanda in Moheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah on Sunday night.
Confirming the matter, BGB Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam said the ex-minister was apprehended from the border area while trying to flee to India illegally.
Narayan Chandra, a former Awami League MP from Khulna-5, had been in hiding since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5 in the face of the student movement.
He was elected lawmaker in the 2008, 2014, 2018, and 2024 general elections.
