Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central executive council member and Dhaka North City Ameer, Mohammad Selim Uddin, emphasized the importance of preserving the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the nation.

He made the statement while addressing the meeting with distinguished citizens in Mohammadpur on Saturday.

The event was organised by the Jamaat's Mohammadpur Thana unit of Dhaka North City. Thana Ameer Moshiur Rahman presided over the meeting, while Zone Director Ziaul Ahasan attended as a special guest.

During his speech, Selim Uddin reflected on the historic student-led movement, which played a pivotal role in ousting the fascist regime and regaining the country’s independence through the sacrifice of hundreds of lives. He described this movement as a “revolution of peace, security, development, prosperity, and harmony."

Selim Uddin urged all citizens to remain united in realizing the vision of a discrimination-free nation, a goal born from the student-mass upsurge. He warned that the forces ousted by the movement may attempt to resist progress and continue their exploitation.

He further stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is a pro-people political organisation dedicated to humanitarian causes since its inception. It aims to work for the welfare of the country and its citizens, according to Selim Uddin.
