Chowdhury Faisal Ahmed (50), a resident of the capital’s Niketon, is in urgent need of financial assistance for his medical treatment after a series of life-threatening health conditions.

Faisal has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments, including a major operation for ‘Renal Cell Carcinoma’ (kidney cancer), which resulted in the removal of his left kidney along with a large tumor.

His medical journey began on 21 March 2023, when he experienced severe abdominal pain and was taken to MH Samorita Hospital. An ultrasound revealed that he had gallbladder stones and a damaged left kidney. After undergoing gallbladder surgery, Faisal was later diagnosed with a 12cm tumor surrounding his left kidney.

On 21 May 2023, Faisal was admitted to BSMMU Hospital where Dr AKM Kurshed Alam successfully performed a complicated surgery to remove his kidney and tumor. The operation was both costly and risky, but Faisal survived and was discharged on 30 May 2023.

However, Faisal’s struggle didn’t end there. His condition requires continuous medical care, including CT scans, PET scans, and pathological tests every few months to ensure his cancer does not return.

On top of that, he is also suffering from a severe skin disease called Zerosis, which is spreading across his body, and his remaining kidney is facing issues. He is under the care of several specialists, including oncologist Prof Kamruzzaman Chowdhury and dermatologist Prof Rokon Uddin.

Due to his illness, Faisal has been unable to continue his job at Orion Group, and his medical expenses have become overwhelming. He is appealing to kind-hearted individuals for financial support to continue his treatment and recovery.
