The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has issued the highest alert along the Kushtia border to prevent illegal border crossings.

A press release signed by Lieutenant Colonel Mahbub Murshed, Commander of Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB), announced this development on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the alert has been enforced to curb unauthorized crossings between Bangladesh and India.

The release emphasised that stringent measures are being implemented in all areas under the jurisdiction of the 47 BGB. All BGB companies and Border Outposts (BOPs) have been instructed to take strict actions to prevent Bangladeshi citizens from illegally crossing into India and vice versa.

Additionally, the press release highlighted that regular meetings, seminars, and awareness campaigns are being organized for residents in the border regions to avoid any unfortunate incidents or fatalities during illegal crossings.

These activities are being coordinated with Battalion Commanders, Company Commanders, BOP Commanders, as well as local chairpersons, members, and other prominent figures.
