Bashundhara Shuvosangho plants trees in Agailjhara

Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a tree plantation programme in Agailjhara upazila of Barishal on Sunday in memory of students and people who were killed during the movement across the country in July and August.
Marking the event, Saplings of bakul, neem, krishnachura, and coconut were planted on the premises of Bakal Niranjan Bairagi High School.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Agailjhara unit Adviser SM Omar Ali Sunny, and members Richard Biswas, Moloy Biswas, Choyon Halder, Headmaster of the school Pulin Bihari Joydhar, Assistant Headmaster Monotosh Kumar Baroi, assistant teachers Lakshan Chandra Bairagi and Safia Akter, Agailjhara Upazila Reporters’ Unity President Md Saiful Islam and member Manik Hawlader, as well as students of the school were present on the occasion.
In his speech, Omar Ali, also the correspondent of the Kaler Kantho, said, “Many students along with commoners were killed and numerous others injured in the recent movement. We have got a new country because of the movement and sacrifice of students and people.
“Remembering their sacrifice with the utmost respect, we have organised a tree plantation programme today [Sunday]. We pray for the eternal salvation of the departed souls of all the martyrs and the speedy recovery of those who were injured.”
Pulin Bihari said this tree plantation campaign of Bashundhara Shuvosangho will remain a symbol of the student-people movement. “The young generation must come forward first to deal with any crisis and disaster in the country,” he added.
Saiful Islam thanked Bashundhara Shuvosangho for organising such a programme in memory of the martyrs, while Richard Biswas hoped to hold new programmes alongside the tree plantation one.
Students Dhruvo Mandal, Mahia Akter, Sahim Gazi, Tonni Akter, and Samrat Sarker expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Shuvosangho for its great initiative of tree plantation on the campus.
