Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul has urged the people that if anyone tries to extort money or gain illegal benefits by showing photos taken with him, the victim must catch and hand them over to the police

In a video message on his Facebook account on Saturday, he said, “Before and after I came to the government, many people took pictures with me. They requested and took pictures. Before coming to the government, I went to many programmes and took pictures. Now a number of people have told me that some people are trying to get illegal benefits by showing these pictures, while some are trying to collect money by saying different things. I have heard these. I do not know the truth or falsehood. I strongly oppose it.

"Hand over to the police those who have committed or are attempting to commit such acts. Under any circumstances, for any reason, if anyone tries to extort anything or get illegal benefits, hand them over to the police, file a case, and send a copy of the case to my Facebook account. I will definitely try to take action against it.”

Asif Nazrul also said that not only he, but everyone in the interim government will show intolerance to illegal activities.

“Neither I nor anyone in my government will condone any illegal activity. I strongly warn those who are trying to do all these things or who are doing them. Do not do any injustice to the people of Bangladesh. Do not use any of our names. Refrain from any kind of extortion, illegal benefits, threatening anyone in our name. Appropriate legal action will be taken if we find out,” he added.
