The Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Wednesday that former national skipper Khaled Mahmud resigned from his post as director of the board.

“Yes, he [Mahmud] resigned,” A top BCB official confirmed the development to the Daily Sun.

Mahmud served as the BCB game development chairman for many years before leaving the post and during his tenure, the Bangladesh Under-19 team won the ICC Under-19 tournament in 2020.

Apart from that, he also served as an interim head coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team as well as manager on different occasions.

Mahmud, who won the election against Gazi Ashraf Hossain in 2013, served as the BCB director on three terms but had to resign before completing his latest term largely due to the political change in the country that prompted the new government to bring in changes in the BCB as well after Nazmul Hossain decided to step down as the BCB president.

Apart from Mahmud, several other BCB directors also decided to step down from the post.
