Farhan’s father, Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, filed the case on charges of genocide and crimes against humanity, said ICT Deputy Director (Administration) Ataur Rahman.

Awami League general secretary and the party’s former minister Obaidul Quader, former law minister Anisul Huq, former Dhaka South mayor Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh, former lawmaker Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Jubo League chief Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, Chhatra League General Secretary Wali Asif Inan, and senior police officer Biplob Kumar were among the accused.

Farhan Faiyaz was shot dead by police in the capital’s Dhanmondi area during the student-led mass movement against discriminatory quota system in public service and Awami League government’s suppression of the protest. Farhan was supposed to sit for the HSC exams next year.
