A total of 1,885 weapons, including rifles, submachine guns (SMGs), light machine guns (LMGs), and pistols, along with nearly 300,000 rounds of looted ammunition, remain unrecovered.

These weapons were stolen during attacks on various police stations and units, which were set ablaze in the aftermath of the student-led uprising.

Since 4 September, joint forces comprising the Bangladesh Army, Police, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Forces, Coast Guard, and Rapid Action Battalion have been conducting operations to retrieve the looted and illegal firearms.

According to police reports, 839 Chinese rifles have been recovered, while 296 are still missing. Nine Bangladeshi rifles have been retrieved, with one yet to be found. Additionally, 191 SMGs have been recovered, while 60 remain missing. A total of 21 LMGs have been recovered, with 11 yet to be found.

As for pistols, 731 have been recovered, but 825 are still unaccounted for. In terms of 9x19mm SMG/SMTs, 32 have been recovered, with one still missing.

Regarding shotguns, 1,624 have been recovered, with 67 still unrecovered. Out of the gas guns, 476 have been recovered, with 117 yet to be found. Of the nine tear gas launchers (six-shot), six have been recovered, while five remain unrecovered. Additionally, one signal pistol has been recovered, with two still missing.

In terms of ammunition, 312,857 rounds of various calibres have been recovered, while 294,405 rounds are still missing. A total of 23,194 tear gas shells have been recovered, while 8,811 remain unaccounted for. Additionally, 704 tear gas grenades have been recovered, with 751 still missing. Of the 2,128 sound grenades, 2,564 are yet to be recovered, while 213 colour smoke grenades have been recovered, with 78 still missing.

Furthermore, 18 multiple bang stun grenades have been recovered, with 37 remaining unrecovered. A total of 533 flashbang grenades have been recovered, while 360 are still missing. As for handheld tear gas sprays (canisters), 94 have been recovered, with 83 yet to be accounted for.
