The interim government on Wednesday formed a committee of advisors for preparing a legal framework for naming public institutions, public infrastructure and other publicly funded projects.

The framework would aim to address the trend of indiscriminately naming publicly funded projects in the favour of ruling political parties.

Law advisor Asif Nazrul heads the new four-member legal framework committee that also includes environment advisor Syed Rizwana Hasan, industries advisor Adilur Rahman Khan, and local government-rural development advisor Hasan Arif.

The committee would prepare a legal framework and then present it before the interim government for vetting.

The committee can also decide to co-opt other advisors of the interim government, for executing necessary tasks.
