The government will kick off the nationwide joint operations to recover all legal and illegal arms on Wednesday in a bid to keep the overall law and order situation under control.

“We will begin the joint operations across the country at 12 am,” Home Advisor Lt Gen (retd) M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said this while talking to reporters during a press conference at his ministry office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Claiming that his ministry held an elaborate discussion to improve the country’s law and order situation, he said, “If we want to improve law and order, we must dismantle the drug trading and its godfathers. The government is committed to moving in this direction.”

The home adviser also assured that the full proof security will be ensued ahead of Durga puza.  

About the tense situation in Myanmar, he said security measures will be strengthened along Bangladesh-Myanmar border.
