The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dhaka has launched a relief distribution programme to stand by the flood-affected people of Bangladesh.
As part of the initiative, Ibrahim Alahmari, first secretary of the Saudi embassy, on Friday handed over 1,000 packets of relief materials to their officials who started along with a truck filled with relief for Cumilla on the day to distribute those.
Each packet of relief contains muri (puffed rice), chira (flattened rice), gur (molasses), saline, and other essential materials.
Speaking to reporters at the embassy, Ibrahim Alahmari said Saudi Arabia is a friendly country to Bangladesh and is distributing this relief as part of their humanitarian gesture.
