Five more cases have been filed against deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and others over the killing of as many people during the quota protests and mass uprising.

Of the cases, one was filed against Sheikh Hasina and 33 others with a Dhaka on Thursday for killing college student Abdullah bin Jahid.

One Jakir Ullah Bahar filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam.

The other accused include former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former DMP Detective Branch chief Harun Or Rashid and ex-MP Habib Hasan.

The court ordered the Airport Police Station to record the complaint as a First Information Report (FIR).

On 5 August, Jahid was shot dead in the Airport area during a rally after the fall of Sheikh Hasina.

Another case was filed against 47 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, ex-PM’s Private Industry Affairs Adviser Salman F Rahman, Asaduzzaman, former Law Minister Anisul Huq, former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud and ex-Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al- Mamun, with a Dhaka court on Thursday over the killing of hawker Shahabul Islam alias Shawon at Baipail in Savar during the quota reform movement.

 Mojibul Hossain, a relative of Shawon, filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Sultana.

 After receiving the statement of the complainant, the court directed the officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station to record it as an FIR.

About 200-300 unnamed people were also made accused in the case.

According to the case statement, Shawon participated in the protest on 4 July. He was shot around 11am and later, he succumbed to his injuries at the Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex around 1:30pm.

A case was filed against Hasina and 66 other people with a Dhaka court on Thursday over the killing of Shahriar Hossain Rokon, 23, in Mohammadpur area on 19 July during the movement.

Rabiul Khan Hillol filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury.

After accepting the complaint, the court ordered the Mohammadpur Police Station to record it as an FIR.

On Wednesday night, Taslima Akhter filed a case against Sheikh Hasina and 44 others at Araihazar Police Station in Narayanganj over the killing of her husband Shafiqul Islam.

About 100-150 unnamed people were accused in the case, confirmed the OC of the police station, Ahsan Ullah.

Taslima’s husband and three brothers-in-law named Jahangir, Yasin and Kabir Hossain participated in the movement on 5 August when Shafiqul was stabbed to death at Baluakandi village.

The other accused include Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman, ex-MP of Narayanganj-4 Shamim Osman, former MP of Narayanganj-2 Nazrul Islam Babu and ex-MP of Narayanganj-1 Golam Dastagir Gazi.

Another case was lodged against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman, Shamim Osman and 34 others in connection with the killing of 10-year-old Hussain during the movement in Siddhirganj of the district.

Victim's father Manik Mia filed the case at Siddhirganj Police Station on Wednesday evening.

According to the case statement, on 21 July, members of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations attacked protesting students at Shimrail after being equipped with shotguns, pistols and other weapons.

Hussain was shot in front of the Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd branch, leaving him dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, a case was filed against former Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and 63 others with a Sylhet court on Thursday.

Jubel Ahmed Swapan filed the case with Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on the attempted murder charges. Some 300-400 unknown people were also implicated in the case.

Besides, a case was filed with a Dhaka court on Thursday against retired Supreme Court judge Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Hasanul Haq Inu, President of Workers Party of Bangladesh Rashed Khan Menon for defamatory remarks about former President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his family.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to look into the case and place findings.

A lawyer named Ziaur Huq filed the case.

Furthermore, a case was filed against former State Minister of Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak under the Cyber Security Act on charges of "spreading false information and tarnishing the image of the state."

One Md Sohagh Mallick filed the case with the court of Dhaka's Cyber Tribunal judge AM Zulfiqar Hayat on Thursday.
