The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday announced it would launch probes against Nasrul Hamid, Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Salman F Rahman for allegedly committing corruption when serving as key figures in the toppled autocratic Awami League government.
The investigations are set to start Friday.
Nasrul Hamid was the former state minister for power, and on Wednesday, law enforcers recovered over Tk1 crore from his Banani office.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the state minister for ICT, and remained in the post for over ten years until the downfall of Awami League government on 5 August. The ruling party reshuffled cabinet positions several times during its long 16-year rule, but Zunaid kept his post, raising suspicions that he amassed huge wealth during the tenure.
Salman F Rahman is a well-known scammer in the country, and has been accused of repeatedly rigging stock markets, and banking regulations.
