Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Sunday that they are not taking replacement for Mahmudul Hasan as they are eyeing to play him in the second Test, subject to his recovery.

Bangladesh team began their training session at Rawalpindi on Sunday after arriving the day before following a three-day practice camp at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 14 to 16 August.

BCB announced on Sunday that they are not going to take any replacement for injured Mahmudul Hasan as they are hoping that he will be available for the second Test.

Bangladesh opening batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy is suffering from a groin strain and will miss the first Test against Pakistan which gets underway in Rawalpindi on 21 August.

“Joy had complained of pain in his right groin on 14 August while playing for Bangladesh A in the four-day match against Pakistan A. He underwent an MRI and physical assessment and it has since been confirmed that he has a Grade 1 adductor strain on the right groin,” Bayjedul Islam Khan, national team physio, stated on Sunday.

“He has begun his rehab. Such injuries usually take about 10 to 14 days to recover and we hope to have him fit for the second Test,” he said.
