Yet another case has been filed against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, who resigned on 5 August amid a student-led mass uprising and fled to India, on charges of killing college student Najibul Sarkar, 18, during the movement in Joypurhat.
Majidul Sarkar, father of the victim, lodged the case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday.
A number of 128 people, including Awami League General Secretary and former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, were also made accused in the case.
The court, however, ordered the officer-in-charge of Sadar police station to record the complaint as a first information report (FIR).
On 4 August, Najibul, an eleventh grader of the Panchbibi Business Management Institute, was shot dead by the law enforcers during the non-cooperation programme enforced by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
He was a resident of Ratanpur village in Panchbibi upazila.
