South Korea has expressed hope for the restoration of peace and order in Bangladesh, following the establishment of an interim government last week.
MOFA Spokesperson expressed this hope in a commentary on Friday.
The Spokesperson said, “The Korean government hopes that the inauguration of Bangladesh’s interim government will lead to the swift restoration of peace and order in Bangladesh, and looks forward to working with the interim government to move Korea-Bangladesh relations forward.”
The interim government, led by Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Muhammad Yunus, was formed on 8 August after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign amid widespread student protests.
